Irish Pub
Well another Sinulog has come and gone. The biggest festival in Cebu every year. This year was about 4 million visitors for the festival.
Marshall's Irish Pub Bar & Restaurant in Cebu is located right in the heart of Cebu City just off of the Fuente Circle and Mango, which also happen to be major spots for the Sinulog Festival itself. This was the first Sinulog that the Pub was open. We processed orders for 1,363 people last weekend from Friday, January 18th thru Sunday, January 20th. Normally it would take us about two weeks to have that many customers, yet we had that many during just 3 days.
We learned a lot from this experience. We ran out of Red Horse beer and San Miguel Light beer by midnight on Sunday. So next year we will need to have more in stock. Although we doubled our tables and chairs for Sinulog, there still were not enough as lots of people wanted to eat and drink at the Pub, but we didn't have enough tables and chairs to support everyone. So next year we will quadruple the amount of tables and chairs.
Our employees did a fantastic job of trying to keep up with all the orders for a 700% increase in customers. But it was very hard work for them due the massive crowd. Next year we will plan to have 3 times more employees for Sinulog itself to be able to keep up with all the orders more easily.
It was actually funny that our human employees did a better job than our computer POS (Point Of Sale) system which kept hanging up due the amount of receipts being printed constantly. 🙂 But even that turned out ok after a simple reboot. (haha)
We would like to thank all the thousand plus customers that came to the Pub last weekend for Sinulog. We hope to see you again next year.
