Saint Patrick's Day In Cebu

The biggest party event and celebration of the year is almost upon us.  Saint Patricks' Day in Cebu will be Sunday, March 17, 2013 and one of the biggest celebrations that can be seen in almost every country around the world.  At Marshall's Irish Pub Bar & Restaurant in Cebu, we will be featuring an all-you-can-eat buffet (P695) along with green beer and live acoustic music from 5pm until 3am for St. Paddy's Day in Cebu. Come dressed in green and you will get 10% off your entire bill for the night for St. Patty's Day in Cebu.  All customers will also receive a free green beer.  Of course you can also request your beer to not be green. 🙂

Of course most foreigners and expats in Cebu are familiar with Saint Patrick's Day since there are typically hundreds of Irish Pubs is almost every major city around the world.  But in the Philippines traditionally there have not been many Irish Pubs here so many Filipinos are not familiar with St. Patrick's Day which is sometimes called St. Paddy's Day or St. Patty's Day.

Saint Patrick's Day is not just a celebration for Irish Pubs.  In some cases entire cities get into the celebration.  In Chicago, Illinois, USA for example, the City of Chicago uses a food dye and colors the entire Chicago river green to celebrate St. Patrick's Day due to the number or Irish-Americans living in Chicago.

The "Feast of Saint Patrick" is a religious and cultural holiday celebrated on the anniversary of St. Patrick's death.  He is the most recognized patron saints of Ireland and known for bringing Christianity to Ireland.  But it is not just a religious holiday.  It is also well known for a celebration of Irish culture around the world.  The "Shamrock" or "Clover" was used by St. Patrick to teach Irish people about the Trinity since a typical clover has 3 leafs and why the shamrock is a national symbol of Irish culture.  St. Patrick's Day is also a time where everyone from Irish culture wears the color green.  Of course the shamrock or clover is a green plant and Ireland is also known as the "Emerald Isle" due to how green everything looks from grass to trees to plants.

It is interesting to see people from all walks of life get into the biggest Irish celebration every year.  There are certain sayings that always come out around St. Patrick's Day.  One such saying is "Everyone is Irish on March 17th."  You will also typically see people wearing t-shirts that say "Kiss Me I'm Irish" on St. Paddy's Day even if they are not of Irish decent. 🙂

For Marshall's Irish Pub Bar & Restaurant in Cebu, we hope to bring a little bit of Ireland to Cebu in our biggest party event and celebration of the year.  So come to our Pub to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day in Cebu and experience some fun and Irish culture.  Don't forget to wear green when you come to get 10% off your entire bill for the night.  We hope you will enjoy our Irish all-you-can-eat buffet as well as our live acoustic music from 5pm until 3am.  We are really looking forward to St. Paddy's Day in Cebu and we hope you are as well.  So make plans to join us on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Marshall's Irish Pub Bar & Restaurant in Cebu to celebrate and party for St. Patty's Day in Cebu.
