Leave it up to humans to create new words and catch phrases all the time.  One of the newest words to hit the Webster's Dictionary in 2012 is Gastropub.  Although the word Gastropub has been around for about 20 years, it has finally made it into the dictionary.  Basically the meaning behind the word is a Pub that focuses on food as part of their menu.  Therefore Marshall's Irish Pub Bar & Restaurant in Cebu City, Philippines is a part of the Gastropub industry.

Typically in the past, Pubs were more well known for drinks and food was more of a secondary thing.  However, there are now Pubs around the world that are putting more emphasis on the restaurant part of their Pub business.  We at Marshall's Irish Pub Bar & Restaurant in Cebu are doing just that. Before most of our customers order more drinks as opposed to ordering more food, this is why we started to push more on our food side and now we it is doing well.

If you have been to Pubs in other countries, you will usually find the food selection to be rather small in comparison to the drinks.  And it is usually called "Pub Grub" meaning appetizers, burgers and sandwiches mostly.  A Gastropub usually has a much more extensive menu related to food.  Although a Gastropub will have appetizers, burgers and sandwiches, you will also usually find a much broader selection of food items.  Everything from low end types to high end as well. People who visit our pub have different taste and with a large selection of food and drinks we have everything they want.

At Marshall's Irish Pub Bar & Restaurant in Cebu, we have a very extensive menu.  2 pages of appetizers.  Soup and salad.  Pub Favorites.  Pizza and Chicken.  Grilled Favorites. Filipino food selections.  Burgers & sandwiches.  And of course Dessert.  Although we do have what is called "Pub Grub" we also have many more items that are typically found in fine dining places such as baby back ribs and T-Bone steak.

One thing that sets Marshall's Irish Pub Bar & Restaurant apart from the rest in Cebu is our selection of "exotic foods."  We have 2 types of crocodile and 2 types of ostrich on the menu.  Crocodile Bites is an appetizer dipped in a Guinness Beer batter and deep fried.  Crocodile Steak is a tail tenderloin grilled and served with 2 side orders.  We also have Ostrich Steak which is also grilled.  We even have an Ostrich Burger which is very similar to a Cheeseburger grilled using ground ostrich. If you haven’t tried our exotic foods yet you better do, it is becoming a hit among the local and foreign customers alike.
